KATHY WESTMORELAND MERCHANDISE

With the recent release of two brand new cds it seemed the ideal time to catch up with our good friend, Kathy Westmoreland, to see what all she's up to these days. Naturally Kathy will always be known the world over as the "little girl with the beautiful high voice", as Elvis referred to her, as she stood beside the sweet inspirations in the 70s. Now, three decades later, we found Kathy to still be one very busy lady, and one Elvis would certainly be proud of.
The release of her new CD, We Had It All on July 18, is just what the fans ordered. As much as they've loved her two previous CDs, Heavenly Father and It's A Lovely, Lovely World, they wanted to hear her singing solo, on the songs she once sang nightly as Elvis', back up singer. Her new CD, We Had It All does just that, and more, as she performs the title song, which describes their life together for seven years, plus a compilation of songs they were known for blending their voices on in the 70s. Songs included on her new CD: We Had It All The following are just a few of the projects Kathy's been involved in recently. First she's written the foreword to two awesome brand new books (in fact she kids about going for the world book of records, for the person to write the most forewords).
First is Sandi Penchon's great new book, Raised on Elvis! Elvis! Elvis! which begins with Sandi explaining how she first met Elvis, when he lived on Audubon Drive and describes sitting in his back yard drinking lemonade, served up by Gladys. Then continues with how after moving, they renewed their friendship by exchanging kisses and gifts across the footlights. Sandi leads us through all her exciting experiences of being invited to parties etc after the shows, and becoming close to several members of his inner circle over the years. Including Kathy, who's friendship with Sandi still continues to this day.
Another is Bud Glasses "just released" hardcover book that is so beautiful inside and out that it could proudly be displayed on any coffee table. Elvis: Behind the Image Volume Two, like Volume 1 contains photos from the private collection of Russ Howe and Sandi Miller. Most of them never-before-seen photos. This very high quality book also contains numerous stories taken directly from the diary of Sandi Miller. Like Elvis, charities and animals are a very big part of Kathy's life. Kathy donates a large part of all monies made from the sale of merchandise on her popular website to charity. She's very active in promoting places close to her heart like, the Society of Singers, and organizations that help terminally children and their families. Her love of animals shines through, the minute you enter her website Kathy Westmoreland as the little animated dog on each and every page is set to automatically provide six bowls of food and care for homeless animals in a shelter or sanctuary, simply by clicking on the free link provided on her pages. One of the most exciting projects right now is the recent adoption of a Chimpanzee from the St.Louis Zoo, by the Kathy and Elvis Yahoo Group . The group is having a contest on nameing their chimp now, and the person who provides the name with the most votes will, receive $100 worth of prizes. Kathy's voice could be heard on TV last month as the new Allstate Insurance Commercials hit the airwaves, as well as the new Elvis by the Presley’s Special, and their new DVD that followed.
Kathy's second recently released CD, It's a Lovely, Lovely World is totally different, showing the wonderful versatility of her voice, as she brings us a collection of 12 great pop/country tunes, which you'd have to hear to believe, as this is a side of Kathy most of us have never seen before. And believe me this girl can really get down and "rock-it". The cover is also unique, in that it features a photo Kathy and her beautiful horse Dodyjo. Songs on this awesome CD are: I'll be There
Just last year she released her first DVD, Kathy Westmoreland in Alaska. Which contains 21 great songs she performed in 1983 at a dress rehearsal for an upcoming tour of Alaska. She has a couple of new DVDs in the making, one of the concert she did in Pahrump Nevada, earlier this year and one which will include a very personal interview she gave in front of a small television station, about Elvis, following his death.
The people at Thessalonian Entertainment & Developments a Division of Sesom International are releasing a board game, with Kathy and several other Elvis names as the main characters. You can find out more details on this soon to be released game at ECCLESIASTES 111THE QUEST Still performing whenever she can, she's also working on a few surprises to be introduced before the end of the year. It seems the only way to keep up with this very busy lady is to keep checking her website at Kathy Westmoreland or by joining her Yahoo Group at Kathy and Elvis Yahoo Group
